Interface control: Flooring for the highest standards and maximum load
New generation of flooring resins
Environmentally friendly, fast-setting, odorless
Especially well-suited for sensitive areas of application
Flooring systems have to stand up to plenty – especially in the work world. They have to withstand not only physical stress and environmental influences; they should also be quick to install and easy to clean, provide anti-slip protection, be free of hazardous substances, and not be dangerous in case of fire. Evonik Industries, one of the world market leaders in specialty chemistry, offers a wide range of products that make these characteristics possible.
DEGADUR® 4U is a new generation of resins for odorless flooring. It has the familiar qualities of conventional methylmethacrylate (MMA) systems, such as fast hardening, UV stability, and remarkable durability. At the same time, however, DEGADUR® 4U overcomes the limitations associated with flammability. In addition, they are environmentally friendly and set particularly quickly. The result: simpler handling and processing during transport and less need for safety measures in the workplace. DEGADUR® –based flooring systems meet the highest standards of hygiene and are easy to keep clean. In part, they contain bio-based components and thus have a positive influence on the CO2 balance. DEGADUR® 4U was developed especially for odor-sensitive application areas such as hospitals, airports, railroad stations, supermarkets, and cafeterias. With this product, Evonik Industries is expanding its proven DEGADUR® portfolio.
Other product families of the specialty chemicals company also ensure that floorings meet the highest standards. Through "Interface Control", Evonik provides a wide range of additives to optimize the widest variety of coatings. For instance, floorings based on VESTAMIN® are installed, among other places, in corridors at business hotels, in order to withstand long-term wear from heavy rolling suitcases. With the TEGO® Foamex and TEGO® Airex Product Lines, Evonik offers defoamers and deaerators, particularly in the segment of modern, environmentally friendly paints: TEGO® Foamex prevents the formation of foam during the production and application of waterborne paints and printing inks; TEGO® Airex accelerates the discharge of air from the liquid paint film and prevents the formation of air inclusions and pinholes.
The silica experts of Evonik offer one of the most successful silica-based matting agents on the market. ACEMATT® is the matting solution for any coating formulation, from waterborne to UV-curing. Different matting grades give wood, parquet or steel floorings an elegant velvet shine and a pleasant touch.
Evonik experts provide support to their customers along the entire value chain—no matter where they are located in the global coatings industry. In combination with decades of experience in the coatings industry, this makes it possible for Evonik to think along and, as a creative problem solver, be a partner to its customers. That is what we mean by "One Partner. Many experts."
