Importance of PaintIndia grows

Two of Evonik’s business units joined forces at this year’s PaintIndia expo in Mumbai, India. All those involved agreed on the growing importance of this particular trade event for showcasing products and solutions to an international audience. Not surprisingly, both exhibitor and visitor numbers were up significantly compared to earlier years.

With just under 10,000 delegates and more than 200 exhibitors, this year’s PaintIndia was a significantly bigger event than the previous edition in 2008. Customers and raw materials suppliers from around the world congregated at the three-day affair to find out more about innovative products and the latest trends in the paints and colors industry.

The Evonik stand welcomed over 1,000 delegates, 200 of which were either existing or new customers and sought more in-depth information as well as advice on our products and solutions. It was also the first time that the two Business Units Coatings & Additives and Inorganic Materials shared a stand at PaintIndia, offering their respective competence and know-how as one in the area of paints and coatings.

Business Unit Coatings & Additives received especially many inquiries on UV-resistant coatings, water-based coatings as well as coatings for the automotive industry. The BU’s Product Line Coating Resins handled numerous inquiries on applications in the area of industrial coatings. Most of the inquiries for BL Crosslinkers centered on Resins & Elastomers, Industrial Coatings and Construction. The teams on the stand engaged both existing customers and interested prospects in an in-depth dialogue, laying the groundwork for further growth in a very dynamic competitive arena.

The industry’s major raw material suppliers and coatings manufacturers are also expo regulars, and the number of international companies and delegates up significantly compared to previous years. The conferences scheduled throughout the expo registered strong attendance as well.
